Born and raised in Rochester, Minnesota, where he still proudly lives today, Chris built his early career on leadership and service. After graduating from Minnesota State University, Mankato, he entered store management, developing strong skills in problem-solving, customer care, and team leadership. While successful in that role, Chris knew he wanted a career where he could make a deeper and more lasting impact on people’s lives.
That opportunity came when Farmers Union Agency reached out and introduced him to the insurance industry. Ready for a meaningful change, Chris embraced the challenge and began building his career as an agent, focusing on protecting families, farms, and businesses across his community.
A Defining Challenge
Just as Chris was entering the early stages of his new profession, his life took an unexpected turn. He was severely injured in a hit-and-run car accident, beginning a long and difficult recovery process. For many, such a setback might have ended a new career before it truly began. For Chris, it became a defining moment.
Through determination and perseverance, he fought his way back, returning to the industry with renewed purpose and perspective. That experience strengthened his empathy for clients facing hardship and reinforced his belief in the importance of preparation, protection, and trusted guidance.
Building a Balanced and Trusted Practice
Today, Chris has built a large and well-balanced book of business, serving farms, commercial operations, and personal insurance clients alike. His approach is rooted in education and long-term relationships rather than transactions. Clients know he takes the time to understand their operations, risks, and goals before recommending coverage. His dedication has proven invaluable during some of the most difficult moments his clients have faced.
One example stands out with a major family farm that experienced a devastating loss when a building, along with tools and machinery essential to daily operations, was destroyed. Because of Chris’s proactive guidance and careful policy planning long before the incident occurred, the farm carried the coverage needed to fully recover. The claim was fulfilled as intended, allowing the family to rebuild quickly and continue operating with minimal long-term disruption. What could have been catastrophic instead became, as Chris describes it, “a blip in the road.”
Chris’s work goes far beyond selling insurance. Over the years, he has stood alongside clients during fires, storms, accidents, and unexpected losses. Behind the scenes, a key part of that success is his CSR, Jessica, who has truly been a godsend to the agency. Her dedication, responsiveness, and care for clients have elevated the overall experience and allowed the business to grow with consistency and trust. From handling day-to-day client needs to supporting operations at a high level, Jessica plays an essential role in ensuring the agency runs smoothly and continues to deliver the level of service clients have come to expect.
At home, Chris is a devoted husband and proud father of two daughters. Family remains at the center of everything he does, shaping both his personal values and his professional mission.
